The 1952 Topps Eddie Mathews #407 card is the last card in the set, and it turned out to be a great one. Little did they know at the time that Eddie would go on to smack 512 home runs and find himself enshrined on a plaque in Cooperstown, NY.
As is the par for 1952 Topps cards, this card is virtually impossible to find in great condition and most have centering issues due to it being the last card on the printing page. The card is about as basic as you can get, but beautiful in it’s own right. Eddie is shown from the shoulders up, staring straight ahead. This card seventh card from the set to make PSA’s list of the top 200 sportscards, a pretty amazing feat.
