The 1952 Topps Jackie Robinson #312 card is yet another in a long line of classic cards from this classic set. Jackie did not appear on any of Topps 1951 cards, so this is his first Topps card and the artistry on his portrait is amazing. The card shows a portrait of Jackie from the jersey letters up, with Jackie staring straight ahead with a smile on his face and a bat on his shoulder. The portrait is set against a vivid red background.
The 1952 Topps Jackie Robinson card was voted in as one of the top 200 sportscards by PSA, and like all 1952 Topps cards, it is extemely difficult to find in really nice shape. Jackie did so much to move both baseball and America forward, this card takes on an even greater significance for many collectors. And it doesn’t hurt that Mr. Robinson went out and mashed opposing pitchers in the 1952 season, compiling a .308 batting average with 104 runs scored and leading the league with a .440 on base percentage.
